This weekend Virginia Beach had a strange thing happen that sent its residents into complete and utter chaos. A blanket of 6 to 10 inches of snow-covered the ground caused more driving issues than you could imagine. As a photographer it was my chance to gather my gear, call a few friends and trek our way around town to capture this odd substance called snow. Our journey into the unpredictable weather gave way to some beautiful images that would normally be passed without a second look. The day went well as we made our way to the Virginia Beach ocean front where I saw a beautiful setting sun that begged to be photographed. The colorful sky was the perfect backdrop for the Virginia Beach pier that extends into the cold water of the ocean. This setting was perfect for an environmental portrait and all I needed a willing subject. I was able to convince three nice people walking on the beach to allow me to photograph them. This time of year is perfect for the colorful skies and family portraits at the beach if you can tolerate the chill in the air.
